Thrive’s Housing Action Team is testing a real-time affordable housing availability tool in the Sioux Falls area.
The pilot will tie into the Service Point case management system being developed by Sioux Empire Network of Care.
The Community Outreach (TCO) will oversee the project, serving as the primary contact between participating landlords and agencies working to place low-income families in secure, affordable housing. The initial inventory will consist of eight to 10 housing units that include Section 8, tax credit, and independent/market-rate properties.
Dane Bloch, Executive Director for TCO, hopes that as landlords become accustomed to the new inventory system, the program will grow organically.
“It’s a manageable project and a good place to start,” said Amy Carter, action team member and operations director for Children’s Inn
